These recipes are ones that I use with my DAK breadmaker. Yours may be different. The thing to check for is the amount of flour in the recipe. Adjust the recipe so that the amount of flour is the same as per your manufacturer's recommended recipe. For example, if there is twice the amount of flour in my recipe than your manufacturer's recipe, cut the entire recipe in half before trying in your breadmaker.
Hints for breadmaking:
1. I never use "For Breadmakers" yeast or flour. It costs too much, and my bread turns out fine with regular baking products.
2. Make sure your water is neither too hot nor too cold. If it is too cold, the yeast will not grow fast. If it is too hot, it will kill the yeast. Make it slightly warmer than lukewarm, unless the recipe says otherwise.
3. You can tell if yeast is active by dissolving it into 2 TBS of warm water. If it is good, it should double in size within 10 minutes.
4. Measure flour by spooning into a measuring scoop, then leveling with a knife, for best results.
5. If your yeast is good, but your bread isn't rising correctly, (the result will be that it cooks flat and part raw inside), you can usually fix the problem by always dissolving yeast into water before adding to breadmaker.
6. Honey can cause botulism in very young children. Substitute maple syrup or molasses in recipes calling for honey if a child under a year old will be eating it.
