COPPER CLEANER
Ingredients: table salt, vinegar
Directions: To clean copper, sprinkle a little table salt on, then add a spritz of vinegar. Rub gently with a soft cloth.

DISINFECTANT
Ingredients: 1 qt. spray bottle, 2 TBS bleach, water
Directions: Mix 2 TBS bleach with 1 qt. water in a squirt bottle. Use after cleaning to disinfect countertops, bathroom or baby's changing table. Spray on, leave a few seconds, then wipe off.

GREASE CUTTER
Ingredients: lemon shells
Directions: Save your squeezed out lemon or grapefruit shells in the refrigerator. When you have greasy splatters on your stove or dishes, run hot water over a lemon shell and rub onto the greasy spots.

LAUNDRY STAIN REMOVER
Ingredients: Clorox 2 laundry powder, white liquid dish detergent (Like Ivory or Dove), Hot water
Directions: Mix together equal parts Clorox 2 powder and white liquid dish detergent. Add hot water and stir until you have soapy water, enough to soak your item. Soak stained item for as long as it takes to remove stain, checking every hour or so. It may take a long time, even days. When stain is gone, rinse with cool water, and wash as usual.

SILVER POLISH
Ingredients: white chalk, ammonia
Directions: Crush chalk into a powder, add just enough ammonia to make a paste. Use just like commercial silver polish.

WOOD CLEANER
Ingredients: raw walnuts or raw pecans, soft cloths, wax paper
Directions: When your wood salad bowls get sticky, break a raw walnut or pecan and use the broken side to rub the bowl clean. (You can use this for wood paneling, too). Then wash with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly. After drying, rub the entire bowl (inside and outside) with wax paper to seal. Always wash wooden bowls by hand right after using, and rub with waxed paper after drying.
