COMPUTERS FOR LEARNING is no longer providing computers for homeschoolers directly. There seems to be some ambiguity in their interpretation of the law and there may be a "side door" way through your state--?? You might want to contact them, but as of September 2007, it doesn't look good for homeschoolers getting free computers through them at this time. If you need a free computer, try your local FREECYCLE group, and let your need be known among your friends, family, homeschool group and place of worship. You never know who might be getting a new computer and looking for someone to bless with their old one.
GODLY GAMES has free downloadable Christian computer games. Requires PKUNZIP or WINZIP to extract.
KABOOSE KIDS DOMAIN has a lot of downloads available for both PC and Mac. Many are free, but not all of them, so be sure to check the price listed. Lots of advertising.

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA Unit Study from Homescholar.org is my favorite (so far) of the free Narnia units. This has lots of great ideas for springboarding to history, art, Bible, science, language and home ec. Even has a recipe for Turkish Delight! You can cut and paste to your word processing program, and print out a reusable booklet.

SIGHT FOR STUDENTS provides free eye examinations and glasses for children of low income families. They have a chart on their website for you to find out if you qualify.
THE LIONS CLUB has a sight program to help people get glasses, and provide help for blind people. They also take donations of old glasses that may be of help to others. Contact your local chamber of commerce to find a Lions Club near you.
HIGH SCHOOL ACE isn't really a freebie, but has so much that can be used for educating high schoolers, you may be able to use this site instead of buying a lot of things. I love this site!

Please use care when dealing with strangers, and don't give out identifying information. I suggest setting up a separate e-mail address at one of the free hosting sites (like Yahoo or MSN). I also suggest meeting at a well-lit public location, and bringing an adult friend along, when giving or picking up items.
